It could hardly have been more exciting. Tactics, attacks, duels, constant changes in the leading group: the cyclocross in Hittnau on November 10, 2024 offered pure racing spectacle and only one constant: Loris Rouiller and Dario Lillo in front. The decision was only made in the last corner. Lillo was no longer able to counter Rouiller’s inside advance.

Attack, counter, tactics, merger

As it soon became clear: not at all. At the front, 8 riders came together again, and the cards could be reshuffled. What followed was a cyclocross spectacle at its finest. Because Rouiller and Lillo repeatedly attacked, but also used tactics and neither of them really wanted to take the lead, the size and composition of the leading group and pursuers changed again and again. In the second to last lap, a leading quartet finally formed, consisting of Lillo, Rouiller, Nicolas Bard and Theo Thomas (FRA). But this split up again when Lillo attacked once more on the last climb towards Dürstelen. Only Rouiller was able to hold onto his rear wheel. He stayed there until around 50 meters before the last left-hand bend around a tree, where he braked Lillo on the inside. Lillo was no longer able to counterattack in the remaining meters to the finish. Nicolas Bard came third.
